Although we live in Bell Buckle, we are just down the road from Murfreesboro. As such, we wind up living a lot of our lives in Murfreesboro, because as you can imagine, there just isn't a ton in a place called Bell Buckle! We tend to head to Murfreesboro to visit the mall, see movies, do grocery shopping, etc. Also, my studio is located on the south end of Murfreesboro.
Barfield Crescent Park family photo session
Just down the road from my studio is Barfield Crescent Park. We have visited this park on many occasions, because it has great playgrounds for the kids, and some nice walking trails. There is also a nature center for kids, with events going on from time to time. But one of my favorite things about Barfield Park is that it also makes a great location for family photos. When you first enter the park, right behind the Parks and Rec office, there is a small parking lot. Next to that parking lot is my favorite place in the park to shoot. It has great shade, as well as a couple of large boulders that are perfect for posing. There is also a cute little fence, and some open areas for playing. Plus, with a parking lot right next to this little area, it makes grabbing things from the car convenient.
Indoor and outdoor family photo locations
The entrance to Barfield Park is only about half a mile from my studio. This becomes super convenient when we need to do a session that is both indoors and outdoors. Take for example Ali’s 12 month session. We knew we wanted to do some outdoor family photos during her one-year session, and then head inside my studio for some cake smash pictures.
