In-home newborn photo session ideas { Newborn Photographers in Nashville }
Welcome, baby!
Let's face it, when a new baby arrives, things might get a little crazy around here! The last thing you want to have to do is leave your home to go take pictures somewhere. Knowing this as a professional family photographer, I am always willing to go into my clients homes for their newborn sessions. Not only does it make life way easier for you, it gives us a chance to really tell the story of life of the new baby.
Where to shoot a newborn session in your home
if you're thinking about an in-home session, you may be wondering, where will we shoot inside our house? For newborn sessions, my favorite place to start is the nursery. Sometimes I even take pictures of the nursery itself. After all, you have probably spent quite a bit of time and effort over the past several months to create this perfect corner of the world for your new bundle of joy.
I also like to sometimes pile the whole family together on a bed or couch so that you can all snuggle in close together. Even if you don't feel like your home is particularly photogenic, I have no doubt that there are plenty of little pockets of light that will make great spots for your family and newborn photos.
What to wear for an in-home newborn session
The best policy is to keep things simple. We always want baby to be our number one focus, and by keeping your own outfit simple it will help your photos be both timeless and beautiful. As for outfit ideas for your baby, you may not even need any! If you have a couple of sweet outfits, maybe even a keepsake gown or the item they wore home from the hospital, those are great for photos. But if you don't, or if nothing fits your baby right now, no worries! I keep a couple of wraps on hand so we can swaddle baby for some super sweet snuggle photos.
